At Heart Hospital of Lafayette, we are committed to providing outstanding patient care by bringing the most advanced medical technologies to our community.
Below is a list of procedures that we offer to keep the hearts of Acadiana beating. Ask your doctor if any of these advances are right for you:
TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement): This minimally invasive procedure for patients with Server Aortic Stenosis offers shorter
recovery time to resume everyday activities. Read more about TAVR.
TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization): TransCarotid Artery Revascularization, or TACR, is an innovative new treatment for patients
at risk for stroke due to blockages in the neck arteries known as carotid artery disease. The minimally invasive procedure utilizes a new FDA-approved
neuroprotection system that temporarily reverses blood flow in the artery during the procedure. Dangerous bits of plaque and blood clots that could
dislodge and otherwise travel to the brain and cause a stroke are safely diverted away while a dedicated transcarotid stent is inserted to open and
stabilize the blockage. Click here to watch a video about this procedure.
CardioMEMS™ HR System: Patients who have suffered heart failure - this implantable system monitors your heart and sends daily
updates to your doctor wirelessly, to control your risk of fluid overload.
Bioabsorable Polymer Drug Eluding Stent: Designed for faster healing, this medicine-infused stent inhibits coronary blockages from reoccurring.
